Competition about the new film museum in Amsterdam at NL Architects (2nd price)
The new building is proposed for the old Shell area on the north shore of the IJ right next to the land marking Shell tower from the 60ies..
In several illustrations I tried to show how the new museum could be used. A bowl holds four movie theatres and forms a big open foyer in its middle. It can be used as well for exhibitions as for several other events like parties, as conference hall at festivals or perhaps a fashion show. Other exhibitions take place on the wings of the bowl in special event points. The upper floor holds the administration and the library, connected to downstairs with four patios.*
